The Simone O'Leary Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt scholarship organization. The primary purpose of The Foundation is to provide funding for educational opportunities to African American, Black or Latino High School Students in New Jersey, continuing onto matriculation at a 2 or 4 year college, university or trade school.
The Foundation is dedicated to the success of all its' students. Peer-to-Peer mentoring, (P2P), is an opportunity for high school students of color or those who may identify as underrepresented or marginalized, to be plugged into a community of peers. Participants will have the opportunity to be mentored by college students and recent college graduates. The mission of P2P Mentoring is to foster encouragement and support for the student. The student will benefit from gaining practical peer advice; developing study & personal management skills; increase academic & social confidence and learning strategies for dealing with personal & academic matters.
